Terms

EG Tone web service terms

These terms explain the core operating rules for the EG Tone website, accounts, downloads, installation guidance, community, user presets, and paid sales flow.

Effective date2026.05.13
Current operating stageInternational digital sales · Merchant of Record (Polar)

1. Scope

These terms apply to the public website, sign-in accounts, gift-code registration, download access, installation guidance, community surfaces, and user preset features provided by EG Tone.

When paid sales are open, the product details, price display, refund notice, and seller disclosures shown during checkout apply together with these terms.

2. Who you buy from (seller and licensor)

For international orders the seller of record is Polar, our Merchant of Record, and the software is developed and licensed by EG Tone (이지톤). The key pre-contract details are:

  • Software developer and licensor: EG Tone (이지톤), Republic of Korea (business registration no. 815-16-02570)
  • Merchant of Record and authorized reseller (seller of record): Polar Software, Inc., 3500 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901, USA
  • Your purchase contract is concluded with Polar; your right to use the software is licensed to you by EG Tone under the End User License Agreement (section 9)
  • Polar charges your payment method, calculates and remits any applicable taxes, and issues your invoice and receipt by email; card processing is provided by Stripe on Polar's behalf
  • Product, installation, and licensing support: EG Tone — egtone.service@gmail.com
  • Price, currency, applicable tax, and supply-start timing are shown at checkout before you pay
  • This is a one-time, perpetual license delivered as an instant digital download (not a subscription, no physical product)

3. Accounts and authentication

  • You must keep your account information accurate and must not use another person’s identity or access without authorization.
  • You are responsible in principle for managing your sign-in method, connected devices, and access information tied to your account.
  • If account theft, suspicious access, device loss, or a security issue is suspected, you must notify the official support channel promptly.
  • For security or operational reasons, EG Tone may request additional verification, guidance, or temporary access restrictions.

4. Minors

  • If a minor enters into a paid product or service contract, legal guardian consent may be required under applicable law.
  • EG Tone may request age or guardian-consent verification where necessary.
  • When paid sales begin, notice about a minor’s right to cancel may be reflected in the checkout flow according to applicable law.

5. Beta access registration

  • At the current beta stage, gift-key access is provided for invitation and testing purposes only and does not by itself create a paid purchase right or resale right.
  • Gift keys may be limited by validity period, use count, product scope, market, or account rules.
  • Access may be revoked for abuse, sharing, transfer, bulk automated redemption attempts, or interference with service operation.
  • During beta, features, access conditions, and download scope may change without prior notice.

7. Installation and downloads

EG Tone provides OS-specific installers as the default installation path for general users, and may provide manual ZIP or separate files only as a support path when normal installation fails or support asks for it.

During Windows installation, a security confirmation may appear. Confirm that the file came from the official EG Tone website, then follow the on-screen steps.

  • The Windows installer is the default path for general users. After installation, reopening the DAW or rescanning VST3 plug-ins may be required.
  • Windows ZIP manual installation is a secondary path. Users must copy files to the guided locations such as `C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\`, and administrator permission may be required.
  • macOS installers follow notarization and Gatekeeper rules, and DAWs may need to be reopened before the plug-in appears.
  • Security software, workplace or school PC policy, and DAW scanning rules can affect installation, so users should check the supported OS and install guide before installing.
  • Files downloaded from unofficial sources, modified files, or redistributed copies may be excluded from support.

8. Community and user preset rules

  • You must post or upload only content that you have the rights to use, including text, images, preset files, descriptions, and related metadata.
  • You may not upload or post materials that infringe another party’s copyright, trademark, privacy, identity, or other rights.
  • Malware, illegal content, automated spam, false reports, impersonation, and service-disruptive behavior are prohibited.
  • EG Tone may restrict, hide, or remove posts, comments, presets, or account functions when required by law, moderation rules, or report outcomes.
  • Community and preset-sharing features may be changed, narrowed, or discontinued depending on service direction and operating conditions.
  • Public uploaded presets may be used for web display, search, sharing, downloads, recommendations, comments, statistics, and service quality improvements.
  • Users retain their rights in public uploaded presets, while granting the company a non-exclusive permission to use them as needed for service operation, display, distribution, storage, and statistical analysis.
  • Private saved presets are not directly used for public recommendations, factory preset creation, or external display without separate consent.
  • When an account deletion request is processed, private presets are deleted or anonymized, but public presets not deleted by the user may remain on the web with author information anonymized as a withdrawn user.

9. Software usage rights

  • EG Tone software is provided through a usage-right flow linked to account, download, and activation surfaces according to the disclosures active at the time of sale, and the paid product is in principle the desktop software usage right.
  • Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the software, installers, embedded resources, brand assets, documentation, and web content belong to EG Tone or the applicable rights holder.
  • Redistribution, resale, public sharing, unauthorized copying, or attempts to bypass access control are not allowed beyond what mandatory law permits.
  • Nothing in this license or these terms excludes or limits your non-excludable statutory consumer rights — for example the EU/UK rights that digital content be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. Any "as is" provision applies only to the extent permitted by law.

10. Changes, updates, and suspension

  • EG Tone may change service structure or features for stability, security, legal compliance, quality improvement, or operational reasons.
  • Material changes affecting user rights or obligations will be announced through notices, email, or other appropriate channels.
  • Free companion services such as community, preset sharing, and social features may be changed, narrowed, or discontinued depending on operating policy, technical environment, or partner conditions.
  • If the service must be closed or fundamentally restructured, EG Tone will announce the shutdown schedule, export opportunity, and a reasonable buyer transition path where applicable.

11. Responsibility and limitations

  • EG Tone works to operate the service reliably, but does not guarantee every external factor such as network failures, third-party outages, or user environment differences.
  • Before purchase or installation, you should review the disclosed supported OS, supported formats, product description, and compatibility guidance.
  • To the extent permitted by law, EG Tone may limit liability for indirect, special, or lost-profit damages where there is no willful misconduct or gross negligence by the company.
  • However, mandatory consumer rights and liability arising from willful misconduct or gross negligence are not limited by these terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

For your purchase, Polar (Merchant of Record) is the seller and Polar's buyer terms govern the sales transaction; your use of the software is governed by EG Tone's End User License Agreement. The mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence applies where it gives you stronger protection.

  • Nothing in these terms deprives EU, UK, or other consumers of the protection of mandatory local law.
  • For disputes or questions, contact EG Tone support first; payment and refund matters are administered by Polar as Merchant of Record.
